Zaku (GQ) MS-06 HG 1/144 - Gunpla

The Zaku GQ MS-06 HG 1/144 features one of the most iconic silhouettes in the Gundam universe in a compact, articulated High Grade version that’s a pleasure to build. With its olive-green armor, distinctive single eye, and imposing shoulder shield, this Mobile Suit immediately exudes a strong military presence.

An iconic symbol of the Zeon forces, the MS-06 Zaku captivates with its functional, robust, and instantly recognizable design. This GQ version retains all of that character while benefiting from a modern design that allows you to fully enjoy its various combat poses.

Once assembled, the model stands approximately 13 cm tall and naturally fits into a Gundam-themed collection. Its military look, complete arsenal, and iconic silhouette make it an equally appealing choice for both beginners and those looking to complete a squad of Mobile Suits.

A military silhouette faithful to the legendary MS-06 Zaku

The Zaku has become a true benchmark in mecha design thanks to its simple yet incredibly effective appearance. Its rounded head, single optical sensor, and asymmetrical shoulders give it an instantly recognizable silhouette.

This HG version perfectly captures this legacy with robustly shaped armor and an iconic olive green color scheme. The various parts are molded directly in their primary colors to achieve a convincing result without requiring any painting.

The shield attached to the right shoulder further reinforces its appearance as a front-line unit, while the various armor plates give the model a genuine sense of power.

For fans of military-style Mobile Suits, the MS-06 Zaku remains quite simply a must-have piece in any Gunpla collection.

A Movable Monoeye to Bring the Zaku to Life

The famous monoeye is one of the most iconic features of the MS-06 Zaku.

Bandai has incorporated a mechanism that allows the optical sensor to be oriented into this version, enabling you to change the direction in which the Mobile Suit is looking. This detail immediately adds more personality to the model when it is posed in different positions.

In firing position, the mono-eye can be aimed at the target to enhance the scene’s realism. In a more neutral stance, it simply directs the gaze and prevents the model from looking too static.

This small mechanism greatly contributes to the model’s charm and immediately evokes the visual identity of the Zeon units.

Excellent articulation for recreating tactical battles

Despite its relatively bulky silhouette, the Zaku GQ MS-06 HG 1/144 boasts a good range of motion.

The joints in the shoulders, arms, hips, and legs allow for numerous combat positions. The model can assume firing poses with its machine gun, defensive stances, or more aggressive attacks with its Heat Hawk.

The torso joints also enhance the fluidity of movement and help break up the rigidity of the silhouette.

This articulation makes the Zaku particularly appealing to collectors who enjoy regularly changing their displays or incorporating it into dioramas.

The Zaku Machine Gun for Iconic Firing Poses

The model comes with the famous Zaku Machine Gun, one of the weapons most immediately associated with the MS-06.

Its distinctive drum magazine reinforces the Mobile Suit’s military identity and allows for particularly striking firing poses.

Thanks to the mobility of the arms and shoulders, the machine gun can be held in various positions to depict tactical advancement, direct fire, or a guard stance.

This equipment plays a major role in recreating the classic appearance of the Zaku as it is known in the Gundam universe.

The Heat Hawk for Close-Quarters Combat

For close-quarters combat, the MS-06 also features its Heat Hawk, a thermal axe that has likewise become iconic among the Zeon forces.

This compact weapon instantly transforms the model’s posing style. The Zaku can then be displayed in a much more aggressive stance, ready to charge or engage an opponent in close combat.

The combination of the Zaku Machine Gun and the Heat Hawk thus offers several display possibilities and makes it easy to refresh the Gunpla’s appearance.

The kit includes, among other things:

• Zaku Machine Gun
• Heat Hawk
• Shoulder Shield
• Alternative Armor Parts
• Rotatable Monoeye

An affordable High Grade Gunpla that’s a pleasure to assemble

The Zaku GQ MS-06 HG 1/144 features Bandai’s Snap-fit assembly system.

Each part snaps precisely into the next without requiring glue. The main colors are achieved directly through pre-colored plastic, allowing you to enjoy a convincing result without the need for painting.

With approximately 130 parts, this kit offers a build that’s complex enough to be engaging while remaining accessible. Its intermediate difficulty level is perfect for those who have already built a few models, as well as for careful beginners.

Assembly takes about 2 hours, depending on your experience and the level of finish you’re aiming for.

An excellent foundation for creating a squad or a diorama

The MS-06 Zaku is particularly striking when displayed alongside other units.

Its status as a military Mobile Suit makes it the perfect foundation for creating a full squad, recreating a battle scene, or building a diorama inspired by the great Gundam battles.

Its relatively understated aesthetic also lends itself very well to panel lining and weathering effects. A few signs of wear, impact marks, or dirt can quickly transform the model into a machine that has truly been through several battles.

For customization enthusiasts, the Zaku is one of the best bases for experimenting with different modeling techniques.

A must-have model for fans of Gundam and Zeon

The Zaku is one of the Mobile Suits that shaped the visual identity of Gundam. Its military silhouette, single eye, and iconic weapons have made it a true icon of the mecha genre.

This High Grade version captures all of that character in a compact, accessible, and easy-to-display format.

Whether you want to build your first Zaku, assemble a Zeon squad, or simply add a classic to your collection, the Zaku GQ MS-06 HG 1/144 is an excellent choice.
