RGM-89DE Jegan Ecoas Type HG 1/144 - Gunpla

The RGM-89DE Jegan ECOAS Type HG 1/144 plunges straight into the military atmosphere of *Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn* with a specialized version of the famous Jegan designed for the ECOAS unit’s tactical operations. Darker, more aggressive, and visually more technical than the standard model, this Bandai Gunpla has an instantly recognizable identity.

Its military brown-green paint scheme, reinforced equipment, and specialized targeting visor give it a decidedly operational look. This is not a mobile suit designed for parades, but to effectively carry out the most sensitive missions of the Universal Century.

At 1/144 scale, this HGUC version perfectly captures this personality with a rugged silhouette, distinctive military details, and a full arsenal. An ideal model for collectors who love Gunpla with a tactical, realistic, and military style.

A Jegan designed for ECOAS special operations

The RGM-89DE Jegan ECOAS Type is a variant of the Jegan tailored to the needs of the ECOAS special forces. Its design retains the recognizable foundation of the original mobile suit while incorporating several specific elements that reinforce its appearance as a special operations unit.

Its darker color scheme immediately stands out from the classic Jegan versions. The brown-green hues give the model a more discreet and military character, perfectly consistent with the covert missions and infiltration operations associated with the ECOAS unit.

This visual identity is one of the kit’s main strengths. Once assembled, it immediately stands out in a Universal Century Gunpla collection and offers a more understated and tactical aesthetic than mobile suits with brighter colors.

A movable targeting visor to reinforce its tactical identity

One of the most distinctive details of the Jegan ECOAS Type is its movable front targeting visor. This unique feature can be lowered in front of the mobile suit’s head to replicate its aiming mode used during precision operations.

This mechanism immediately adds more personality to the model and allows you to vary its appearance depending on the chosen configuration. With the visor raised, the Jegan retains a more classic silhouette. Once lowered, its appearance becomes much more specialized and aggressive.

This relatively simple detail dramatically transforms the perception of the Gunpla and allows for displays that directly evoke the tactical operations of the ECOAS unit.

A Complete Arsenal for Long-Range and Close-Quarters Combat

The RGM-89DE Jegan ECOAS Type HG 1/144 comes with several pieces of equipment that allow for varied poses and configurations after assembly.

The Beam Rifle serves as its primary weapon for standard long-range engagements. It can be paired with the compact shield to create a defensive stance or a scene of tactical advancement.

The bazooka offers a much more imposing alternative and gives the mobile suit a heavier, more aggressive appearance. For close-quarters combat, the lightsaber effectively rounds out this arsenal.

The kit includes, among other items:

• Beam Rifle
• Bazooka
• Laser Sword
• Compact Shield
• Movable Targeting Visor
• Sheet of ECOAS Marking Decals

This variety of accessories allows you to regularly change the model’s appearance and create several very different configurations.

Ideal Articulation for Realistic Military Poses

Despite its relatively sturdy silhouette, the Jegan ECOAS Type retains good range of motion thanks to the HGUC line’s design.

The arms, legs, hips, and shoulders allow you to recreate numerous poses inspired by combat situations. The model can be displayed in a firing stance, advancing with its weapon, or in a more dynamic pose with the bazooka.

This mobility is particularly useful for creating more realistic military scenes. Unlike some Gunpla models designed primarily for highly spectacular poses, the Jegan ECOAS Type works extremely well in more understated, tactical positions.

When paired with a display stand or other models from the Gundam Unicorn series, it makes it easy to create a realistic combat scene.

An Accessible and Enjoyable-to-Build HGUC Gunpla

The Jegan ECOAS Type uses Bandai’s Snap-fit system, allowing you to assemble the various parts simply by snapping them together.

No glue is needed to build the model, and the primary colors are achieved directly through the different shades of plastic used during molding. It’s therefore possible to achieve a convincing result without additional painting.

With approximately 155 parts, the kit offers a build that’s substantial enough to remain engaging without becoming overwhelming. Its intermediate difficulty level makes it particularly well-suited for modelers who have already built a few Gunpla kits, but it’s also accessible to a meticulous beginner.

Assembly takes about 2 to 3 hours, depending on experience and the desired level of finish.

Perfect Details for Customization and Weathering

The military style of the RGM-89DE Jegan ECOAS Type makes it an excellent base for customization enthusiasts.

Its dark color scheme works particularly well with panel lining to highlight the structural lines and various armor plates. The included decals also allow you to add markings specific to the ECOAS unit.

More experienced modelers can take it a step further with wear effects, battle scars, or light weathering. This type of treatment fits perfectly with the model’s tactical identity and can give the mobile suit an even more realistic appearance.

Even without modifications, the military-style molding and specific accessories already give the kit a very striking presence once assembled.

A must-have for fans of Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn

The RGM-89DE Jegan ECOAS Type embodies everything that makes the military mobile suits of the Universal Century so appealing: a functional silhouette, credible equipment, and an aesthetic immediately associated with special operations.

Its targeting visor, comprehensive arsenal, and brown-green paint scheme clearly set it apart from the classic Jegan variants.

Whether you want to expand a Gundam Unicorn collection, build a Universal Century army, or simply assemble a Gunpla with a more tactical design, the HGUC 1/144 Jegan ECOAS Type is an excellent choice.

With its distinctive military look, movable visor, and exceptionally versatile arsenal, it adds real character to any Gunpla display case.
