Gaia's / Ortega's Rick Dom HG 1/144 - Gunpla

The Gaia's / Ortega's Rick Dom HG 1/144 immediately commands attention with its massive silhouette, iconic purple color scheme, and a design clearly geared toward heavy assault. Based on *Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX*, this Bandai model reimagines the famous Rick Dom in a custom version associated with Gaia and Ortega.

Its imposing shoulders, heavily armored legs, and oversized equipment give it an instantly recognizable look. At 1/144 scale, the model retains all the visual power of the Mobile Suit while offering a compact size that’s perfectly suited for display.

Once assembled, the contrast between its massive frame, dark colors, and heavy armament makes it a particularly striking piece in any Gundam collection.

A massive silhouette true to the spirit of the Rick Dom

The Rick Dom is one of those Mobile Suits that prioritizes presence and ruggedness above all else. This Gaia’s / Ortega’s Rick Dom version fully preserves that identity with bulky armor and a silhouette designed for heavy combat.

The broad shoulders, thick legs, and thrusters accentuate its appearance as a war machine built to take a beating and strike hard. The purple and black color scheme further reinforces this sense of power.

Bandai offers a precise part layout that maintains a high level of detail despite the model’s imposing size. The primary colors are integrated directly into the parts, resulting in a convincing finish without the need for painting.

Surprising mobility despite its size

One of this Rick Dom’s strengths lies in its articulation.

Despite its massive armor, the model can assume numerous combat poses thanks to a design that preserves good freedom of movement in the arms, legs, and hips.

This mobility allows its heavy weaponry to be showcased without making the model look too rigid. It can be displayed in a firing position, in motion, or in a more aggressive stance.

This combination of visual mass and mobility gives the Gaia’s / Ortega’s Rick Dom a distinct personality when on display.

A built-in high-mobility mode with no part swapping

This version also stands out for its transformation gimmick into high-mobility mode.

Switching between configurations can be done without having to replace multiple parts of the model, making the transformation smoother and more enjoyable.

This feature allows you to alter the Rick Dom’s overall appearance and vary its display depending on the chosen configuration.

For collectors who enjoy regularly changing the look of their Gunpla, this mechanism adds real value to the model.

A massive Giant Bazooka for impressive firepower

The Giant Bazooka is one of the kit’s most spectacular features.

With its generous dimensions, it immediately reinforces the Rick Dom’s heavy, offensive character. Its articulated handle allows for varying firing positions and creates more natural poses.

The model can thus be displayed with the weapon in a ready position, firing, or in a more aggressive configuration.

Combined with the Mobile Suit’s imposing build, this Giant Bazooka gives the model a particularly impressive presence on display.

An Electromagnetic Grappling Hook for Versatile Setups

The kit also includes an electromagnetic grappling hook with a guide wire, which adds a unique touch to the Rick Dom’s arsenal.

This accessory allows you to create more dynamic displays and add an unusual sense of movement compared to conventional weaponry.

The guide wire enhances the illusion that the accessory is being propelled and enables more creative action scenes.

This variety of equipment gives the model more personality and ensures it isn’t limited to a simple heavy-fire configuration.

A Complete Arsenal for Heavy Combat

The Gaia’s / Ortega’s Rick Dom features several accessories that make it easy to vary poses and combat styles.

The kit includes, in particular:

• Giant Bazooka
• Additional ranged weapon
• Melee weapon
• Electromagnetic grappling hook
• Guide wire
• Interchangeable hands
• Marking decals

This equipment allows you to switch from a heavy-fire configuration to a close-quarters combat stance, while maintaining the Mobile Suit’s massive presence.

An accessible and enjoyable-to-assemble High Grade Gunpla

The Gaia's / Ortega's Rick Dom HG 1/144 uses Bandai’s Snap-fit system.

The various parts snap directly into one another, requiring no glue. Since the main colors are already molded into the plastic, painting is optional.

Assembly is therefore accessible while offering enough variety to satisfy Gunpla enthusiasts who already have a few kits under their belt.

The interchangeable hands and various accessories also allow you to continue enjoying the model long after assembly is complete.

An excellent model for fans of Gundam GQuuuuuuX

The Gaia’s / Ortega’s Rick Dom adds a strong presence to any collection thanks to its massive design, purple livery, and heavy arsenal.

It clearly stands out from sleeker or faster Mobile Suits and brings real visual diversity to a display case.

Whether you’re a fan of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX or simply enjoy Gunpla with a heavy, military style, the Gaia’s / Ortega’s Rick Dom HG 1/144 is an excellent choice.

With its Giant Bazooka, high-mobility mode, electromagnetic grapple, and imposing silhouette, it has everything it takes to become a centerpiece of your collection.
