GX-9901-DX Gundam Double X HG 1/144 - Gunpla

The GX-9901-DX Gundam Double X HG 1/144 embodies all the extravagance and power of *Mobile Suit Gundam X* in a spectacular 1/144-scale Gunpla. Piloted by Garrod Ran, the Double X stands out for its massive silhouette, imposing equipment, and above all, its legendary Twin Satellite Cannon—one of the most impressive weapons in the series.

This High Grade After War version faithfully reproduces the Mobile Suit’s proportions and numerous mechanical details, while remaining easy and enjoyable to build. The various colors are achieved directly through pre-colored parts, allowing you to enjoy a convincing finish without the need for painting.

Once assembled, the Gundam Double X immediately becomes a standout piece in any collection, sure to catch the eye with its imposing backpack and massive reflector panels.

The Twin Satellite Cannon, the Gundam Double X’s iconic weapon

The GX-9901-DX’s main selling point is, of course, its Twin Satellite Cannon. The two cannons mounted on the back can be deployed over the shoulders to recreate the Mobile Suit’s most spectacular firing configuration.

This display completely transforms the model’s silhouette and gives the Double X an instantly more aggressive look. The cannons extend the body’s lines and reinforce the sense of raw power.

The system is accompanied by six reflector panels mounted on the backpack, which can be opened to represent the energy buildup required for firing.

Thanks to this configuration, the Double X offers one of the most iconic attack poses in the HGAW line.

Six Reflector Panels for a Spectacular Visual Effect

The six panels on the backpack play a key role in the design of the Gundam Double X.

When deployed, they create a veritable mechanical crown around the Mobile Suit and give the model a much larger scale than that of a classic High Grade.

Glossy decals complement these elements to reproduce the panels’ characteristic reflective appearance. Under direct lighting, they add real visual depth and further enhance the model’s spectacular appeal.

This combination of cannons, panels, and backpack makes the Double X a particularly impressive Gunpla when displayed in firing configuration.

A complete arsenal for all combat situations

The GX-9901-DX Gundam Double X doesn’t rely solely on its Twin Satellite Cannon. Bandai also includes several weapons that allow for a variety of poses and configurations.

The beam rifle lets you recreate more classic firing scenes, while the two beam sabers with wide, translucent blades are perfect for close-quarters combat.

The shield rounds out the set and provides an additional defensive option.

The kit includes, among other things:

• Twin Satellite Cannon
• Six deployable reflector panels
• High-energy beam rifle
• Two laser swords with translucent blades
• Shield
• Glossy stickers for the reflector panels

This variety of equipment allows you to display the model in many different configurations.

Articulation Designed for Powerful Firing Poses

The Gundam Double X HGAW 1/144 features an articulated design that allows it to maintain dynamic poses despite its imposing equipment.

The hips and ankles offer a good range of motion, which helps stabilize the model during heavy firing poses with the Twin Satellite Cannons deployed.

The arms and shoulders also allow for effective positioning of the beam rifle or laser swords.

This mobility makes it possible to transition from a defensive stance to a spectacular attack while maintaining a natural silhouette.

Mechanical details faithful to Gundam X

The Double X also stands out for its numerous technical details spread throughout the armor.

The heat sinks mounted on the arms and legs are meticulously reproduced, reinforcing the model’s mechanical and functional aspects.

The various armor plates feature clean lines and well-defined contours, allowing the model to maintain a clear visual presence despite its intricate design.

Modelers looking to take it a step further can easily accentuate these details with panel lining or a few targeted paint touches.

An Accessible and Rewarding Snap-Fit Assembly

Like other Bandai Spirits High Grade models, the GX-9901-DX Gundam Double X uses a glue-free snap-fit system.

Each part snaps directly into the next, allowing for a clean and precise assembly. The primary colors are already integrated into the plastic, making painting optional.

This design makes the model accessible to meticulous beginners while remaining engaging enough for more experienced collectors.

Once assembled, the Double X offers an excellent balance between visual richness, articulation, and ease of display.

A must-have for fans of Mobile Suit Gundam X

The GX-9901-DX Gundam Double X holds a special place in the Gundam universe thanks to its extraordinary weaponry and instantly recognizable design.

This HGAW version captures all of that character in a compact 13-cm format that’s easy to incorporate into a collection.
