The X-wing fighter is an essential element in the Rebel Alliance's fight against the Empire. Used in battles across the galaxy, they sometimes crash in the middle of Galactic Civil War battlefields, providing valuable cover for ground fighters.

A fighter was shot down in the heart of a contested area, and enemy troops were sent to the crash site to examine the wreckage. We have received a transmission from the pilot confirming his position. We're going to need every single one of our fighters if we're going to win this war. Bring our pilot home!

That's the mission of this expansion scenario, to bring the pilot home, either to rescue her or to capture her, depending on which side you're on. The crashed X-Wing miniature is placed on the battlefield, its pilot miniature next to the wreckage.
